Everything here works the same on a phone or a computer. These five steps cover the features that save the most time.

Start with your situation

Not sure where to begin? The homepage has a short list of common situations. Pick the one that fits and it takes you straight to the right page, sometimes with the filters already set for you. If your search is just getting started, the Job Seeker Playbook walks you through the first steps in order.

The Start with your situation list on the homepage, with choices like I just lost my job and I want remote work.

Search every directory at once

The search box sits in the dark bar at the top of every page, and the bar stays with you as you scroll. Type a skill, a field, a city, or a state, and suggestions appear as you type. Press Go to see every match, where you can narrow the results to one directory or show only free resources.

Narrow a page with filters

Each directory page has filters for things like cost, type, and specialty. The number on each button tells you how many listings match before you pick it. Choose one or more and the page shows only those listings. To undo a choice, select it again or use Clear all.

On a phone, tap the Filters button at the bottom of the screen, make your picks, then tap Show listings.

Your filters stay in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered page or send it to someone and they will see the same list.

Save the listings worth a closer look

Every listing has a Save button. Select it and the button changes to Saved. Select it again to take the listing off your list. You can save from any directory page and from search results, and the star in the top bar keeps count.

Use your saved list

Select Saved, the star in the top bar, to see everything you saved in one place. From there you can:

The Saved listings page with buttons for Copy as text, Email to myself, Share, Print, and Clear all.

Your saved list stays in the browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data or using a private window can empty it, so copy or email the list if you want to keep it.
